5 Tips To Test Your Panel Siding Sample Jun 30, 2017

If you’re considering fake stone panels for your home improvement project, ordering a sample of one of our faux stone veneer panels is a great way to figure which style will work best for your home. This is true whether you’re considering a panel siding project or a focus area like your front entryway. There’s simply nothing like seeing how the panels compliment or bring out the surrounding colors throughout your home.

Believe it or not, there’s a right way to test your stone veneer sample and it’s not as simple as holding it up in the improvement area for a few seconds or getting a thumbs up from your spouse. Following the five sample evaluation guidelines below will help you properly assess which of our faux stone panels is the right choice for your project.

1. Temporarily Install the Fake Stone Panels

Getting familiar with the texture, look and even durability of fake stone panels is important, but temporarily installing a Nova Stone panel is the best use of the sample. Nova Stone is specifically designed for do-it-yourselfers, but we recommend starting in a small area few people see to get a feel for the installation process.

Try using two sided Velcro to temporarily view your Nova Stone sample on a wall if you are not 100% sure you will be covering up the area in the near future. Then you can try out the installation process by attaching the panel to a cardboard box. Using a cardboard box will allow you to experience screwing the panel to another surface without putting any holes in a wall. If the sample installation goes smoothly, you can consider doing the project without the help of a contractor.

2. Move the Sample Around Your Property

Nova Stone is a versatile product that can be used throughout your property. Test it out anywhere around your home or building. Brick veneer may work better on the exterior of the property, while stacked stone panels may work better on the interior. A good fit can become great if you take the time to assess all of your options. Our visualizer tool will help you take this a step further by showing you what the project would look like completed. 3. Test the Sample Throughout the Day

See How it Looks in the Morning, Afternoon and at Night

Lighting can change throughout the day. Take the time to look at the product when it is sunny, cloudy, day or night. Whether a room or section of your property receives consistent lighting conditions or it varies throughout the day, you can be confident your choice in product will be visually appealing at any time.

4. Consider the Seasons

How Can Nature Complement Your Project?

Red and brown leaves can pile up quickly in the fall. Does your sample accent or clash with the colors of the season and your landscaping? As the seasons change, so do the colors surrounding your property. If your sample looks a little bland against the white snow of winter, consider its appeal when surrounded by colorful flowers and trees.
